This book is 16 studies in the first letter of Peter, expository in presentation but well illustrated in style, and certainly of relevance for today. The original recipients of Peter’s letter were facing various issues such as persecution in a hostile environment, the purpose of suffering, end time events and future rewards, besides overcoming setbacks in Christian living, perseverance and doubt. It is against this background, with the odds stacked against the Christian, that Peter shows the basis of how to live a Christ-honouring life, showing that opposition is a test of the genuineness of faith, and that we shall be rewarded on “the Day when Christ is revealed”.
