Description

Even in today's post Christian society the Lord's Prayer remains widely known. Its beauty is that it can be understood by a child, but has tremendously profound lessons for those of us who investigate it more deeply. However, our tendency is to allow familiarity to breed complacency. We can repeat the Lord's Prayer verbatim, but do we ponder its message and follow its example?

After pastoring for 17 years in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Dr. Thomas returned to the USA in 1996 where, in addition to his work at the seminary, he serves as the Minister of Teaching at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.

Customer Reviews

There are a few good books available on the Lord's Prayer, but Derek Thomas's treatment is among the best. It reveals a profound spiritual and theological wisdom rarely exhibited among contemporay writers. The section on the will of God is a jewel.
