F. B. Meyer was a pastor in York, Leicester and Regent's Park, London during the latter part of the nineteenth century. His congregations were large, with over 800 members in Melbourne Leicester; he also undertook prison visitation and social action to help the underpriveliged.
In addition to his pastoral work he preached regularly at the Keswick Convention. This selection from his writings is a good introduction to a prolific author who wrote commentaries, character studies, devotional and daily reading material.
Frederick Brotherton Meyer (1840-1929) was a well-known & gifted pastor & author. His evangelistic tours took him to South Africa, Asia & North America even when he was 80. He spent the last years of his working life as a pastor in England’s churches. Meyer was part of the Higher Life movement & often preached at The Keswick Convention. He was known as a crusader against immorality & is said to have brought about the closing of hundreds of saloons & brothels. He wrote over 40 books.
