Eryl Davies’ short guide to mentoring answers all the most common questions people have about being a mentor. Including the biblical examples of Jesus and Paul, Davies shows how a mentoring relationship is a close, real–life relationship that can supply us with the wisdom and encouragement we need. A mentor helps to apply biblical wisdom to family and work tensions, suffering, disappointments, bereavement, spiritual growth.

… Davies advocates prayer–driven, self–sacrificial, personal investment. The spiritual power of this model can be traced to a simple principle – it calls on mentors to be Christ–like so that their mentees can grow in Christ–likeness.
Ben Fiddian
Pastor, Bonar Bridge and Lairg Free Church, Scotland
This book is authentic and is the fruit of a lifetime Dr Davies has spent mentoring others, including myself. I was left challenged to deepen my faith, encouraged to mentor others, and equipped with how to do so well. Highly recommended.

In our day of social media ‘influencers’ (many inexperienced and undignified), Davies pulls us back to Christian influencing in and for the sake holiness, wisdom, character and experience. Written by a true mentor, Davies practically models what he writes; chiefly as he calls us to listen to others as the Lord Jesus did. This book is an inspirational demonstration of the power of mentoring in the life of the Church.
